I want to upgrade my bulbs - I have an 8 bulb 48" T5 fixture and have been looking on reefgeek for new bulbs but there are so many to choose from, I have a few suggestions for a 5 or 6 bulb fixture but I have an 8 bulb.  Any help or point me to a thread and that would be great!

Its a reef tank or start of one, kind of a mix some Caps (green, red), Zooa's with lots of color, bubble tip, hammer coral frog spawn, torch a mix of frags and so on.

Ok here is what I personally would do. There are as many opinions about this as there is about everything else in reefkeeping so there is no right or wrong.

Blue plus
12K aquablue
Blue plus
6k mid day sun
Super antinic
10k aquasun
blue plus
12K aquablue

Reef Geek is a really good guy to order from. The way he packs bulbs makes them almost impossible to be broken in shipping. A+ guy

Good luck

Maybe:
AquaBlue
BluePlus
AquaBlue
ProColor
AquaBlue
BluePlus
AquaBlue
ProColor

I would ask the experts in this thread http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1495464

GrimReefer has done many many PAR tests of many of the different T5 bulbs. and how they look in the tank.
In fact he posted this in that thread:

"8 lamps over a 120 I'd do 4 blue plus, 1 Aquasun, 1 GE daylight 6500K 1 UVL Super Actinic and 1 ati Aquablue"

I don't know for what type of corals that setup is for though.
