Looks good; how long have you had the set-up? Hate to be the mandarin police, but I wonder if there's enough rock in there to support a good and constant pod population for him? They often starve over a course of 6 mo-year :(

Like the coco worm/feather dusters-pretty :) What is the purple thing? Does your urchin bother stuff?

Thanks!

Its been set up for a little more then 2yrs, I had some of the stuff in a 75g at my old house. But run out of space there.

SO in Feb,2006 I built a new house to accommodate my growing family. The 75g was ok but I wanted to go bigger, so I bought the 30g to put in the new house to transfer the stuff I wanted to keep, and sold the stuff that I didn't

along with the 75g. I'm setting up a 120g in wall tank room as we speak.

LOL. Ya the Mandarin are awsome and the Mandarin police will smile when they find out that both the Mandarin and the coco came from the 75g and both are doing fine..

The secret is he loves brine shrimp!!!

I can't remember what the purple stuff is called, I got a small frag of it from a Friend, and as you can see it has spread quit a bit.

Yeah the urchin does once in a while make a mess of things, but he does a good job at keeping the algae in check.

I was wondering if you got anything from him.  I'm grabbing the live rock and sand tomorrow from him.  I have my 72 ready for the sand and rock and once my rock cures from the 55 I'll add it in.

Or would it be helpful to put in the live rock a bit earlier?

I don't think it really matters, but I put the sand down first.

That way you can make it even throughout.
