Yes. I have had luck with it. I still top off with kalk and run a calcium reactor as well. Seems to be the best combination.

I know Einsteinds tops off with kalk as well, no CA reactor, and has good growth as well.

Anything you do to  keep Ca, Mg, Alk, and pH at proper levels will lead to good growth, its just a matter of getting stable levels and maintaining them.
