Was at one of the local fish stores and was told an engineer goby would do fine with a yellow watchman goby in the same 75 gallon tank. I did a little research and found some post online where their engineer goby killed a watchman along with green chromis, as I have both in the display. Any advice is greatly appreciate as I would love to put him in the display, but not at the risk of my yellow watchman or any other fish for that matter.

I would be very cautious putting an engineer in with a watchman, especially in such a short tank. If it was 6' long, you could probably get away with it. Personally, I wouldn't try it unless you can catch one and house it in a different tank. Sometimes people put our wet pets through unnecessary stress and do not even realize it. Then the people wonder why a fish of theirs' died 'for some unknown reason'. Outright aggression can be seen but what about the unseen? That's why people are encouraged to choose their fish wisely. Remember also that LFS are in business of "selling" and not necessarily giving good guidance/DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/sad.gif Good luck with your decision!/DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/biggrin.gif

I can speak only from personal experience on a 6 ft. tank. My engineer goby is a model citizen (he's full grown) other than constantly shifting the sand bed. He will sit at the same opening as my yellow watchman, and I've never seen him even acknowledge another fish.

The biggest caution I will give is on the sand moving. You need all of your rock formations to be on the glass. Also, be careful to keep sturdy corals low in the tank, as they'll likely get sand spit out on them.

    That's my personal experience,
    Noah

    There won't be an issue.

  7. Only time I see aggression from my engineer goby, is when I put nori on the algae clip. He will try to nip at the other fishes tails so he can get get a chunk of the nori. Its pretty funny to watch actually. Other than that, he has been a great fish with my experience.

I want to give a big THANKS for the feedback.Once I get my new diamond drill bit, I will be moving frags on my sand bed to the frag tank. Once I get that done I will be moving the engineer over to the display.
