About James:



James Fatherree is a professor of Earth and Environmental Sciences at Hillsborough Community College in Tampa, Florida, and has been a reef aquarist and diver for over twenty years. He also worked for an aquarium livestock collector and wholesaler, managed a large retail aquarium shop, and operated his own aquarium installation and maintenance business in the past. James has also been a monthly columnist for Tropical Fish Hobbyist magazine for over fifteen years, has regularly contributed to other aquarium and dive magazines, and has authored several marine aquarium books, including Giant Clams in the Sea and the Aquarium.

About Ian:



He spent many years as a naturalist relying almost completely on biological filtration. Though proper practice, elaborate husbandry, not to mention years of painstaking trial and error, He was able to sustain several different types of biotopes. Growing most coral including some more challenging species. Whether it be innovative ideas, or a challenging fish, He is constantly trying to find a more holistic way to care for his reef. Sustaining the hobby as well as preserving as much of the ocean has been a great interest of his since he set up his first 40 Gallon Breeder.
