Just curious what brand ATOs everyone is using? I'm looking at the Tunze with the new electronic eye and magnet mount. Experiences - the good, the bad, and the ugly?

Iam using a tsunami ato, it is a pressure switch rather then a float.

How long have you been running that, and how do you like it?

been using it for 3 years now and has never failed. So I guess I like it. Nothing fancy but its just an ato and for around $50 it was a get investment,

Avast Marine makes the same type of Auto top off as the tsunami, i have used this one for 6months now and i love it. It has never failed and you can also purchase the backup float with it incase something would fail it would still stop it when the water level gets to a preset point. avastmarine.com is the link

I used the tunze and the electric eye seems to collect deposits on it and causes the ATO to fail, if you clean it on a regular basis it shouldn't be a problem, used mine for less then a year and then it malfunctioned with the alarm going off and could never get it to stop. Talked to the tunze rep at MACNA and said to send it in and he would repair. Never got around to it and currently use the JBL ATO and I like it better then the tunze.

ive got the JBJ ATO. works goood and havent had any problems with it. one thing i wish it would have is a 3rd float switch to add to the resivoir, to shut the unit off it were to run dry. i run the 2 available float in the sump to prevent an overflow from a stuck float.

I use the Tunze you referred...2 of them for my (2) tanks. Have had one for a long time with no problems. I just use my finger to wipe the sensor when I think of it as it does need to be kept clean. Rhe design was changed last Fall and I like the new changes. The user can access the inside of the control box to dissable the alarm, dry it if water happens to drip into it... I like them.  Haven't ever had a reason to try anything different..../DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/smile.gif

I just made mine. Aqualifter pump and two AC/DC mini float switches. I have a DIY on here, but I would suggest doing it with a 24v relay instead, but you don't need too. If you have any question let me know..

All the others are all great systems too, but I only spend around 30 bucks making mine, but around 50.00 making it with Relay.

kyle can you link to your DIY thread?  I would also like to make one with a dual switch and a 3rd on to cut out the pump if the ATO bucket goes dry.
