I thought it was a given that if we want food we are going to help make it....?

We would prefer it but not required. Last year if you were not present to help make the food you paid more for a bag than the people that were there helping. We will be doing that again this year. We will list prices when we get closer and get the items bought to make the food.

Yes - we definitely expect that most everyone that wants the food will be helping make it. Its not something that can be done with 4-5 people......

I want to come and will take one bag if i can make it. I may have to work that Saturday so not for sure. If I do make it I could bring some knives and maybe a cutting board.

We're still nearly 4 weeks out from this event but at almost 50 bags. If that's all we end up doing I'm OK with that, because between the CR group and us, hitting 100 bags is a nice number as far as the ingredients go. I'm pretty sure we'll go way over that eventually but you never know.

The aggressive food would have bascially just large chunks of seafood and a few additives, and none of the coral type foods. This really need to be a separate batch if done and would be priced differently. it's also a ton simpler because nothing like cubes from brine shrimp direct or coral foods, etc, and no food processing really (or minimal).

One time we did a fish-only as well as an aggressive batch but it was a pain the way I did it. If we did it again it would definitely be totally separate, except for some portioned out ingredients like garlic, vitamins, aminos, etc.

So I'll throw this out there. IF we did bags for large & aggressive tanks, how many would you want and would you then want less of the reef type?

As for the fish-only or FOWLR type food, I believe the easiest way to do this would be to just give people bags of the aggressive food and they can take it home and blend it further to preferred consistency. Last time we made 3 types, we mixed all non-coral related things then portioned out amounts for who wanted FO food, then added the coral ingredients and blended further. Sounds good on paper but it was a logistical nightmare.

Hey I am new but I would love to try this food out.. I would take 2 bags and I would love to come help.. I don't have a food processor but I do have a kitchenaid stand mixer with a meat grinder attachment if you think that would be of use.. plus sharp knives and cutting boards

Not sure about the stand mixer/grinder, the squid and octopus are the reason for the need for sharp knives. Filet knives work the best on that stuff. Everything else chops up easily in a food processor.

I think we're going to need to finalize this pretty soon. This thread has been up for over 2 weeks. We're going to group this order together with the CR DIY Food to save a little, their is a few weeks after but their list sounds pretty much done also.
