MACNA raffle missing tank?

There were two big Marieland tanks for the raffle.  One was the big 200 gallon tank (Value: $2,500.00 ).  The other was slightly smaller and had an external "Coast to Coast" overflow and included all the filtration equiptment (Value: $5,068.44).    Somebody won one of those tanks (couldnt tell which), but the other was never announced.  I put in a lot of tickets into both boxes (as well as a lot of other people) and was wondering why one of the tanks was not raffled.

A question like that will need the input of Joel, Craig, JB, and/or Stephanie. I'm not sure what their exact status is right now, but I'm pretty sure they're in burn-out recovery today. I'm sure they will be able to answer the question for you once they're back on the forum.

We saw the 60g cube tank from Marco Rocks bungeed into the trunk of a small red car headed east, lol, not that that helps you any /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default//emoticons/smile.gif You mean it was never announced who the winner was for the one you're referring to? That's odd.......

Im not sure where you were when they were announced, but Brett from Tanked drew the one in the Marine Geek booth, and the other one in the Marineland booth I drew. Both were loaded on pallets & taken home by the winners.

The 120 tank from Kent was won by someone, and then sold to one of our club members.

Maybe I missunderstood what you were saying then.  I was there the entire time and didnt remember you announcing the one at the Marineland booth.  That was worth way more than the 200 gallon one so I was really paying attention waiting for it to be announced.  Maybe I was listening to hard.  Ha.

Yes, all of the major stuff was claimed (somethings twice unfortunately). I think the only thing we had left over in the end was a bucket of salt and a few additives...

And then there is the $3700 Tank that Live Aquaria donated to GIRS for Fall Fest in appreciation of our MACNA efforts. /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default//emoticons/smile.gif

I was already planning to come to Fall Fest....but, this gives extra motivation. So this will be raffled ??????  If so, that's an amazing donation. ...can I buy raffle tickets now? lol

Yes, it will be raffled off at Fall Fest.   It will probably be some kind of a special raffle (maybe club members only, etc).   The BOD will have to discuss it once we've recovered a bit.
They also gave us their two smaller tanks for Spring Fest, though someone walked off with one of the canopy's before it was packed up.

If it makes you feel any better i had more than 950 tickets that did not hit......90 % of what I did hit was in the first $75.00 of tickets I bought.

I would have done better if I had only bought $100 dollars worth of tickets instead of over $1000. But I figure that the other more than $900  is just a donation to the club and it is a great club.  Thanks to all that made MACNA possible. It was a conference that will be hard to top, good luck Dallas trying to duplicate this one.  It is always a joy attending a club function. Carl Nelson

I actually hope Dallas does top it. reason i say that is because if MACNA continues to get bigger and better each and every yr what does that say about the hobby itself?

I agree, and I have already purchased my conference tickets....just haven't told the wife, yet. But I think I will skip the raffle since I am not a member of the Dallas Club.
