MH bulbs.

I have 3 250 watt MH's over my tank and one of them has went out. Where is the best place to buy? Anyone have any they wanna sell? I am located in Des MOines.

 

I am also interested in another reflector and ballast combo if the price is right. Let me know.

 

I typically buy from marine depot because they have a big selection of bulbs. I run XM brand 15k and I like the color they give off and have good coral growth. I haven't had a bulb go out on me though, how long have you been running those bulbs anyways?

 

I bought them used so they prolly needed replaced but it is a fish only with softies so didn't worry about it.

 

You just missed out Hellolights.com had some killer sales on XM bulbs just last week. I think they were $39. You might try emailing them to see if they would match that price again. If you subscribe to the newsletter you get an additional 10% off too. What type of ballast do you run? SE or DE bulbs? Depending on which ballast you have will tell you what the best performing bulbs are for the ballast.

I would highly suggest looking at the charts here:

Pay close attention to the PPFD (Par) and the CCT (color temp).

I've got a couple 250 watt fixtures I don't need. Both with bulbs with less than a month on them.
Ones a Hamilton Belize Sun that has a DE 250 other is a PFO/Icecap pc combo that has a SE in it.

Would basically like the cost of the bulbs.
