Yea if you look at it wrong it's going to slime up all over your tank!

When it does that, I take my turkey baster and gently blow the slime strands off of anything they're on, including the slimer /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default//emoticons/smile.gif The slime seems to irritate other things it touches, so I suppose its some sort of defense mechanism from being touched/handled or irritated in some way.....

If your slimer is actually "sliming" I would be very concerned as you did something pretty bad to piss it off that much.

It was moving from the QT tank to the Main display.  I drip acclimated for 2 hours, but it definitely "slimed me".
I was already having enough trouble placing frags (dang it, it sure looks like it should be easy....but those ()*%(&*%^!!@#!! things just don't sit where I plan them to) and then I hit that one.  I bobbled it more than once for sure.
Right now, I've got most of the polyps out on it, but it is more brown (tannish) than green.  I think it will color up as it settles in.  When the actinic is on, its green on the side that it had light in the QT tank.
It's the coral I'm most worried about.  I mostly picked up LPS and palys and zoas at Fall Fest, and this is one of two SPS I took a chance on.  The second one might be a porite; I'm cranking through the book Calfo recommended to me on coral ID, but to call it a large subject would be understating it /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/tongue.gif.
I can tell the difference between Acro and Birdsnest now tho /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/smile.gif.
I had no clue that I love Acans until after Fall fest; they were on my list of "ok's" for my skill level, but not a real priority.  I keep looking at those frags over and over tho...and dang if the colors on them don't look like black light posters from the 70's!  I've still got lots of space for these guys, and if I can get them to flourish I'll sure as heck be adding more of them.
My Wife has refused the budget for a frag tank.  She insists on doubling it, so that we can have 2 frag tanks, one specifically for Xenia.  I'm gonna roll with it.
I would post pictures....but I went to the smoking awesome presentation at fall fest on taking images of your tank....and now that I know a couple of seriously wacky tricks, I want to implement a few of those tricks before I post again /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/tongue.gif.
    Apparently a tripod is crucial.
Bluefools hint of the day:  when at a frag fest, budget cash for the nice folks at Oceans Wonders; they make some awesome frag epoxy putty.  You are gonna need to stick those frags on the rockwork, and "fitting in the frag plug to a hole on the rock" in my experience means you will be fishing for that frag when it falls out of the spot you wanted it to be in....plus, Iowa based business.
I've got a reefs2go order coming in the morning.  Is it normal to skip sleeping because you want to see you new snails? /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/tongue.gif
