I must be. I see I posted about the visi-therms (that replaced the failed stealth) failing but still felt safe using them as long as I had 2 in a tank. Well yep, both failed sometime today in my discus tank.
Pulled one from my other FW tank and..... no heat there either....[IMG]
This is really upsetting....not just for me but my discus as well.
They are getting every one of these heaters back and I will never use a Marineland heater again....and... obviously... I'm one that will give another chance.

I hope your Discus are ok. I had a replacement one as well and it failed within 1 week. Im not a big Marineland fan myself but i do have to say at least they are standing behind their products.
    Good luck with your discuss!

Sorry about that, were the fish ok? I had a Stealth heater go nuts in my 75g and ruined quite a few things :/ So many things are cheaply made these days, hard to know what to buy anymore........

Sorry to hear about your troubles. I don't know why all these manufacturers can't make a reliable and accurate heater. The closest is the Eheim Jäger heaters, they seem to work well for most people. I have 2) 300w heaters in my current tank. I have owned smaller ones for previous tanks and they have all held up.

The discus are still alive & it's lights out for them now. I took tomorrow off as vacation day so I'll re-assess. Double-checked the sump in the basement...both Visitherms, for my 120 reef upstairs...not for long...
    thanks!!!

Ebo-Jagers are probably the most reliable heaters that there are. I've used them for many, many years...low wattage and high :=0)

You have me thinking that I need some redundancy in my system as well. Yeah, not sold on much of Marineland's products these days. Don't hear too much good about them from experienced aquarist.
