Used tanks

I found a great deal on a 75g tank but it was freshwater and they could not tell me if they used anything for treatments for the fish.
Shoould that be anything i need to watch out for? Any input would be great. Thanks.

The big thing is you want to test for is copper which is toxic to invertebrates and unfortunately used in a lot of freshwater medications. It can get into the silicon and then leach back into the tank over time.

I'd fill it with water and let it set for a few days and then test it.

Yes there are ways ;-0) If it's copper that's been used and is present, you can use CupriSorb by Seachem...or you could replace the silicone. Depending on other possible problems, just ask ;=)

 

I usually look for any coloration in the silicone as well (green or blue tint) from different medications that may have been used in the tank.
