This is awesome. Did you end up setting up turn/gate valves at the junction before your tanks, or are you simply using the ones in the sump.

Your not fully cycled yet, but nitrites aren't that toxic to marine animals. Your nitrites should drop in time, once your tank fully cycles.

Make sure it doesn't get above 5ppm, and if it does, do a water change to bring it below 5ppm.
