Before I moved, the frag tank was coral only. Granted it was pretty stocked with coral, but I emptied the cup every 2 week.
If you’re doing it for shows you won’t need a skimmer. If it’s going to be up and running I would put s skimmer on it. I ran gfo and carbon on it too.
Mine is a 4’x4’x1’ tank. I just plumbed it into my 300. I had it on its own sump last year and it just ends up being more testing and maintenance....
As said above, felt filter socks should clear up the water in a day or two. Watch socks as they may fill up fast and overflow.
The skimmer should pull the cloudiness out. Do you have filter socks in your sump?
I would also check the unit outside and make sure nothing is clogging up the condenser. Also check the filters. The company should have checked...
You could get a humidity meter. If you have higher humidity your unit is working harder and could fall behind. I currently rent and the unit is on...

Talking to the one who started the thread. Carbon pulls yellowing out of the water, it won’t clear up cloudiness. Looks like Tank needs a filter...
