Does anybody have experience with these Tetra aquariums? I've been thinking about buying a 40b and a 20 long or two but haven't heard much on the Tetra aquariums they are selling....are these quality tanks?

AFAIK Petco carries Aqueon glass tanks, not Tetra. They are very good. Many people snatch up the 40Bs because they are so versatile for SW hobbyists.

The last one I bought was a aqueon great tank no complaints. The last time I was at petco it looked like they were doing away with aqueon and going with tetra brand.

I would be surprised if brands such as aqueon were not built in the same factory as the tetras. You see this a lot in manufactured goods such as air compressors, furnaces, Sears craftsman vs Menards masterforce tools. Same stuff different color. Give tetra a call and ask who the tank manufacturer is. I would be surprised if it was Tetra, but would be worth it at a dollar/gallon.

Check the silicone job and don't think too much about anything else. As long as the seams look clean and bubble free i'd say buy it. Its a box built out of glass, not really a big deal.
I'm sure all the glass comes from the same glass supplier. I'm sure all the silicone comes from the same silicone supplier. the only real difference is the manufacturing label that's stuck to the glass.

I read that they are using thinner glass than the aqueaon aquariums...In such a small size I don't know if it would make any difference really....

Was in there yesterday and they look like the exact same tanks to me. Just a different name on them. If I needed one I would still buy one.
