well i got bored around christmas time and started a little project.  I wanted a nano for our living room and i had a 10g sitting around.  so i decided to use it and started searching for other people that have done 10g nano's before and saw some with rockwalls and i loved them.  so i made one.  and now i dont know where its going to go since we bought the new tank for the living room..but still a fun build.
Pics 1 and 2 shows a little mockup of the tank with the wall.  i used plexi to divide the area up and a little bit of eggcrate to hold a media bag or filterfloss.  used the eggcrate for overflow teeth as well.  painted the plexi with krylon after i used plumbers primer for PVC fittings on it.  not sure if it will help it from chipping or not but we'll see haha.  cut 3 pieces of eggcrate and started ziptieing dryrock to it.

Pic 3 is the eggcrate panels with dry rock and black "pond foam" used to make waterfalls.  you are suppose to use this as it is UV resistant and wont break apart after a while like the great stuff foam does.  i got it at Thiesens.  then you use a 2 part epoxy finishing resin and cover the spray foam and pour sand/crushed dry rock on it.  that part is kinda messy.[IMG]
Pic 4 is final product filling with water.  dont have a pic of it full of water right now its still cloudy.  as for lighting i'm using a 18" nova extreme T5 unit.  I think it will work well /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/smile.gif
as far as issues so far, i need a smaller return pump, maxi1200 is way to big haha untill i tackle that i dont know what other issues there may be.  i think i will have enough room for a skimmer later on if i decide to get that dedicated.  but i think it may just be a bedroom tank.  plans for tank are pistol shrimp/goby pair and zoa's maybe a bi color blenny

i got it from Theisens in pella. look at earl mays or an ace hardware or true value. any black pond foam will work. i orginally bought a can online for about 20 bucks, then found the stuff local for 7.

Actually going to test the sump today.! Got it 'built' but need to test that baffles will hold water. ;-) i ended up with a 30 L as a 55 was too tall for stand. Then on to piping. i have 45 lbs of rock curing right now.. i will be starting a build thread .
