    When: Sunday, January 12th 2014

    Where: North Liberty Recreation Center

520 W Cherry St North Liberty, IA 52317

    What: 2013 Holiday Party

    Time: 2:30pm to 5:30pm

Please Mark your Calendar for this event!!!

Event will be held Pot luck style with main course provided by the club.

White Elephant/ Secret Santa Frag Exchange Rules:

Since there are likely members who are new to the hobby and may not have any coral to share, feel free to bring a dry gift if a frag is not available. Each person who participates brings a frag OR dry good with a value of approx $15. Gifts should be brought in either a gift bag or gift wrapped (gift bags would be ideal for frags). Clearly mark the gift as either SPS, LPS, Soft Coral, or Dry Good so the recipient can ensure they have the proper tank conditions to support that type of coral. Do not give away the specific coral name until the gift is unwrapped.

We will draw numbers from a hat to determine the order for selecting gifts. The first person to pick will select from one of the wrapped gifts of their choosing. The second person to pick can either steal the gift from the first person or decide to take their chance at selecting a wrapped gift. If your gift is stolen, you can then decide to select another wrapped gift or steal a gift from another person. To avoid taking too long or all fighting for the same gift, we will limit the number of times a gift can be stolen to two times.

Some good examples of gifts might include: Fragging supplies such as reef books, frag plugs, discs, glue, bone cutters. Common supplements such as 2-part, kalkwasser, GFO, Carbon, DI resin, etc.

    Frag size examples:

    1-2” SPS frag

1 or 2 heads of LPS

    10-20 polyps of common zoanthids,

4-5 polyps of more rare zoanthids.

    Thanks

Sorry! We leave for San Diego for a week of Rotary training that morning. I'm trying to get back into the group, but the timing isn't working right now. I'll keep trying!

Thanks for at least popping in. I was just wondering the other day how things were going with you. We'd love to have you more active in the club again.
