February pics. Starting to see more growth with the SPS and the acan is happier than last month.

So, for April I have a picture of my gyre pump. A week ago I replenished my CUC with some golden astrea snails from reeftopia.com ( piggybacked on an order with @Dave@Dave ) . They are only about 1/2" diameter. But they pack a punch. I started cleaning my circulation pumps mid-week, and was astonished to find 4 of the astrea snails munching away on the algae on the gyre. The entire pump was covered in algae - and they are slowly and methodically stripping it away completely! Look at the bare spots!

I had a similar experience in my Cube tank. I had been fighting hair algae for 6-9 months. Every week or two I would try to scrub it out. I went thru almost a whole bottle of Microbacter7 and then a bottle of Vibrant. Neither helped. Finally I added 2 Turbo snails (the big ones), and within 2-3 weeks the visible hair algae was gone. Then I added some of the small hermit crabs (also from reeftopia). They are only about a half inch long. They get into all the crevices of the rock and finish off the algae! Now all I am fighting is a bit of green slime algae!

    Sorry for the long discussion!

I've really noticed my new cleanup crew members are really getting after the algae. Huge improvement in just a short time. Probably shouldn't have waited 3+ years to refresh it.

May pics. I may have to move the SPS as I see the cali tort has decided to photo bomb the pic - they're running out of room. Acan seems a bit sullen again this month but is doing well.

Loving this coral so far. Can’t wait to have a colony. So much purple, orange and some amazing green on this one.

June pics. I moved the wild thing SPS due to getting some shade from its neighbors. Not too much worse for the move and seems to be settling right in. The acan is still pouting a bit but seems to be doing fine - other than its neighbor trying to grow over him...probably need to move it too.
