Yep it won't be a salt tank but figured you all would enjoy the build anyways... /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/whistling.gif

That would paneling on the side I thought was unique, then you painted it! Is there a reason you didn't just use something like krylon fusion on the glass itself? Easier to remove if need be I am guessing?

The paneled look is the finished look the pictures came out in reverse order when I posted them. 6 coats of Rustoleum Oil based black went on and then finished the end panels off with Oak Contact paper as the wife hates black. This gives me the black look inside and the oak look outside.

Getting closer still need to do some work on the back right corner but that should happen over the next week. Sump is scheduled for delivery next week then I just need to get it all plumbed up and ready to go.

Spent some time getting the sump all tuned in and getting most of the cords all cleaned up.

That sump is crazy, auto dosers. Can't wait for you to get that rock in and finish the scapping.

justin be careful craig loves planted tanks. You tell him what size tank he would pry give you a list of what to buy. Plus he is the best aqua scaper I know. I've tried talking him into salt just to see what you could do. Might try to talk him into doing my next tank.

That sump design is great. It's like a pair of Eheim filters in the form of a sump. Very, very nice.

Well figured I should post an update as it has been a bit and Troy was nice enough to stop by and spend an hour or so pulling a few par numbers for me.

    2 bulbs on - 1 Giesemann AquaFlora : 1 Giesemann Midday
    right under water
    surface: 110
    half way down tank: 60
    right on bottom glass: 25
    4
    bulbs on - 1 Giesemann AquaFlora : 1 Giesemann Midday : 1 ATI Blue Special : 1
    GE Starcoat 6500k
    right under water surface: 175
    half way down tank:
    80
    right on bottom glass: 50
    6 bulbs on - 2 Giesemann AquaFlora : 2
    Giesemann Midday : 1 ATI Blue Special : 1 GE Starcoat 6500k
    right under
    water surface: 280
    half way down tank: 100
    right on bottom glass:
    70
This was based on a Current Nova Extreme 12x 39 watt T5HO with 6 bulbs
over each half the tank. The tank is 30" tall with the light about 4.5" over the
    tank top.
So with my 2 bulbs on each side turned on I have plently of par
to keep low light at the very bottom with more further up if I wanted to keep
    something slightly more demanding.

    Enjoy,
    Craig

Looks good, needs more reds and purples. Oh and put a tv on that stand. You have every electronic you can think of and you install direct tv but you deprive your kid. Don't make me show up with a tv
