Got the BioCube last week and last night I built the frame for the stand (Custom).  I build the frame from 2x4's and will cover it all in 1/2" Birch Hardwood ply and then paint it.  Hoping to get the ply on it tonight and then prime/paint it sometime this week.
I'll take some pictures and post them here after I get it all primed, etc.
Still working on the Live rock situation, but I have a few leads on it and just have to pick one (go go people in GIRS and Craigslist).

Maybe the kids and I will swing over later and take a look at it, they would have fun playing with Drew anyway : )

We had a beagle for a while, but I wasn't very good with it and I didn't train it well. It ended up with a nice family that wanted an outdoor dog. My daughter still has a picture of him up on her bulletin board. I learned my lesson and did much better with the Mini Schnauzer that we have now...he's fairly well behaved. They are a nice looking dog.

ok so I was running behind this morning and didn't get any pictures taken, but the stand is completed and ready for primer (unless I decide to do some routing, etc on it). Basically frmaed 2x4's, then sheathed it in 1/2" birch plywood.

I may have over-designed it. I think it will take well over 400-500 pounds easy since I am 230 and could jump on it without it flinching. I made it 24"x24"x40.5" put a 1" lip on the top to hold the biocube on incase someone bumps it (even tho 29 gallons of water + rock + coral is over 300 pounds..hard to bump and move).

Will get you some pictures tonight Gered when I hopefully put a coat of primer on it when I am priming the customer bathroom vanity I made this weekend.

P.S. I have been doing all of the training with my beagle and he knows most stuff. still working on come, but he has everything else down. I'll post a picture of him I have on my PC...lol

Might want to see if there is an option for a larger version. Stand looks good from what I see! Seems like we are starting to get a few 29 bio's in the club. May have to start a thread just for these tanks.

    Gered,

If you go to the imageshack link tehre should be the full size pictures...but I tried posting them here and they are 5x the size of the screen (wife's camera) so I linked the thumb size.

Did some final wood filling last night, and have to sand it tonight and prime & paint it this weekend.

Thinking about Black for the stand color. Any inputs? Where the pictures were taken is about 10 feet from where it will rest permanentally...in place of my 20 gal tall FW tank.

May have water in it by this weekend, but likely not until next weekend (traveling next week for work /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/sad.gif )

Ok went to the link. Looks some quality craftmanship! How about instead of a black paint a real dark stain? I believe I saw a black colored stain and it looked pretty sharp.

Checked it this morning and it is totally clear. I also found a couple little creatures that must have hitched a ride from Adam's rock. Found a 6 legged star about 3/8" across and a tube worm (maybe) sifting guy about 3/8" across with a tube maybe 1/16" diameter and 1" long on a rock.

Pretty cool stuff so far and I am excited.

P.S I forgot to add I bought 10 pounds of live sand to put in the bottom for snails and to keep most of the rock off the bottom glass.

Now that things are clear, rinse out that sponge in the back...I'm sure it's got a bunch of silt in it. Also, have you added anything to start your cycle yet? There's different ways to cycle a tank...using cocktail shrimp or a very resilient fish like a damsel. Sometimes there's someone trying to get rid of a damsel or two and you can get one free. Looking good so far!!
