    Hello All,
I am wanting to change the light I currently have on my 10 gallon 24x10x10 to a 2x24w 24" t5 fixture. I am wanting to support sps and a small crocea clam with it. I've picked the bulbs of aquablue special and blue plus but have read different things about fixtures. I can not hang the fixture so I have to have a way to stand it on the tank.

I am trying a coralife fixture but have read that the ballasts might not drive the lights to their full potential and that par is lost because the bulbs don't have individual reflectors.

I've read that the par for each of the above bulbs is about 300.

I am not interested in going to a 4 bulb fixture and would like to spend as little money as possible. Does anyone have any suggestions?

    Thanks.

Either one of these would work. I think Reef Brite has one too. You can also get them with an led strip between the t5 bulbs.

I would suggest blue plus and coral plus bulbs. Coral plus looks better in my experience.

Make you own mount with some aluminum angle stock and stainless bolts.

Or buy the coral life fixture and switch out ballast. New ballast should be about $25. I use the HEP T5 ballast.

I have a Aqua illumination light bar that is 24 inches and has legs that you could probably attach a light to.

Thanks for the suggestions. I might try switching the ballasts out and sticking with the coralife. Thanks for the offer Roman. While I'm not too certain about their ability to help corals keep their colors, I have a kessil a80 and 160 that I'm going to try to use with the coralife for extra par. I'm kind of wishing I had ordered the coral plus but maybe I can in the future. Thanks for the suggestions.
