So, I've begun to love the 3 and 4 stripe damsels. I can't help it! I want to have two of them in my 75 gallons reef. I know they can get super agressive, but maybe they arent so bad. You tell me!
I currently have a 2 1/2" hippo, 3" yellow tang, 1 1/2" 6 line wrasse, a 2 1/2" Clarkki clown, 3" Lyretail Anthias, small Tailspot blenny, I was thinking of adding a niger trigger and have a Bellus Angel on the way.
Would I regret adding these damsels??? i want them soooooooooooooo bad!

They get ugly as they grow the white turns dirty grey and yes they are very aggressive especially towards other damsels. And I would avoid the trigger in a reef tank unless you don't plan on having any crabs, shrimp, or soft corals

Get some blue/green reef chromis instead. Bluethroat might also be a better trigger if you must have one.

Everyone's experience is different. But when my 180 was a aggressive tank with a 7" lionfish, 2 large triggers, Puffer, Angler, eel, Grouper, well you get the idea. Well I had one 4 stripe damsel, pretty good size, but he ruled the tank. There was no question about that. That is just my personal experience with them.
I wouldn't just in case it turns bad, it will be hard to get it out of the tank.

There also not very reef safe. I for one am not going to put anymore mote fish in my. Reef unless there 100% reef safe. It just seems every time I add s maybe reef safe fish it always goes bad

3-stripe - aggressive, viscous & downright mean...chromis seem to be the only mild ones in the damsel family.

I have three damsels in my 90. My yellow tang keeps them in check and like my other fish they now eat right out of my hands. Fish are like people, no two are alike. They all have there own personalities and temperments. If you add the damsels last they will grow believinbg they are not in charge and should reduce there agression. Shaun
