300 gallon tank for sale!

    We are selling our 300 gallon tank.  The tank is 10' long x 2'x2'.  It is made of acryllic and in excellent condition!  There is no crazing in the corners and little if no scratches!(Nothing a light polish couldn't take out, but most can't even be seen when the tank is filled)  Two overflows (with 1 1/2" bulkheads in them) located in both corners of the back of the tank, so the tank would make an excellent room divider or penninsula.  Tank needs to go!  $1100 OBO!

    Thanks! I've never figured out how to get the pics to show up on here.... evidently it's different than reefcentrall etc... Thanks though!

    No sorry, no stand or equipment. This was going to originally be built in wall, so it would require a custom stand, and I was going to tie it in to my exitsting system (two cattle troughs) in the basement. I bet you could easily get a 125 cheap though on craigslist or something for a sump, worth thinking about for a tank that was over $4000 new!

    Sorry not trying to thread crap but who made the aquarium? I priced a Tenecor 96x24x30 with stand and hood and it was less than four grand.
    Tenecor sells the tank alone for for half that.

    Sorry don't know the maker, but I was told that price when I bought it. I know it's not a tenecor, but I also know that it's also not 96" long, and anything above that jumps in price. Glass cages, who I would say has no comparrison to tennecor, has a 96x30x24 listed for $2150. That has no overflows or anything, so I would be amazed to know that tenecor would sell a tank that size for less than glass cages. $4000 is what I was told it originally cost, it's not what I am selling it for, nor even close. Even if it were a figure close to what you are saying I woiuld still say I am asking less than half which should be more than fair!

    Like I said I wasn't trying to thread crap, I was quoted a price if $1900 delivered with a single 16" overflow in the middle. I didn't want overflows on the ends because it was going to be out in the open.
    Typically they charge more the taller they get because the pressure goes up according to height not length. Taller= more pressure=thicker acrylic. I ended up going with a marineland starphire 250 and saved $$300.
    Your price is very fair but I have a feeling the person that sold it to you exaggerated a bit on the price.
    If I had room for something that long I would consider it myself.

    I really hat to do this, it's far less than I have into it and I never even got it set up, but-
    $800, IF GONE BY NEXT WEEK! Or at lest a sufficient deposit made.

    I am somewhat interested... just don't have any way to get it to Des Moines. A 10 foot long tank can't be an easy thing to transport!

    You may want to check into a U-Haul trailer for something like that. IMO, that would be your safest/cheapest option. And you can probably even do a one way rental.
