If memory serves me right, on mine, just the front glass was starfire. The sides and back were regular glass. Awesome tank dimension for a reef setup.

Is the tank really 26 wide or is it supposed to read 36" wide?

    You're correct. It's a typo and it's actually 36" wide.

What kind of holes are in the 300? Might be interested if I wouldn't have to hack it up to handle decent flow.

    Got any pics of it?

    Bet it's pretty heavy..... lol

300 gal DD is about 400lbs empty if memory serves me right. A guy on each corner is manageable. These are nice tanks.

Unless it was custom drilled the overflows won't handle much flow used in the stock fashion. IE one drain and one return per overflow box. You could get some decent flow running all 4 holes as drains and returning over the top, or simply sealing off the existing holes and custom drilling for what you want.

I wouldn't let the current configuration turn you away from this tank. Deep Dimensions are awesome, and that is a very nice price if the tank is in good shape.

I understand DD are awesome, most of my tanks are 3+' deep. And every one of them had to be hacked up in order to run the flow rates I run on my tanks.

Problem is once the inside of the overflow is full of holes the only real option you have is drilling the side. Are the sides tempered?

Pics would help a ton...... Maybe there's room in the overflows for more holes? /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default//emoticons/smile.gif

Tank has four 1" bulkheads so it should do 2400gph total. I used all of them as drains and fed the tank with over the top returns. I ran about 3x turnover / 900gph through the tank, which was plenty. I used vortechs for "in tank" circulation

There wouldn't be any more room in the overflow for more holes. I'm not sure if sides are tempered or not
