Got everything transferred over and setup today. That was a chore that I don't want to do again anytime soon!

My friend is making me some brackets to raise up the light canopy about
6" off the water. Currently running the MH at 150w on the select-a-watt
to keep heat down. So far I haven't had any trouble with the light
    heating the water.

Now to save for an MP10.

    Current stocklist:

    1 Blue Green Chromis

    2 O. Clowns

    Hammer

    Candy Cane

    Small frag of zoas

I'm pretty open to stocking and haven't made any decisions in that regard yet.
    Hardware:
    20L sump
    CadLights 1150 G2 skimmer
    dual 3/4" returns
    Glass Holes 700 GPH overflow
    QuietOne 3000 Return Pump
    2 Jager TruTemp 125w
    K3
    250w radium

    Galaxy select a watt ballast

12 Cree royal blue 3w led

    Mean well LPC-35-700 driver

    Large bat wing reflector
I plan for this to be a mixed reef. Hopefully get better pics. I have to pull out my 5D, I just didn't have time today after breaking down my 72.

This isn't the tank you just got done re-sealing, is it? If so, keep an eye on things. You're supposed to let silicone cure for 2 weeks before putting water in it.

72 hours until you can water test it. You're rolling the dice if you wait < 2 weeks for reef safe. Some have no problem, others lose everything in the tank. What silicone did you use?

Not much can be done at this point. 100% silicone by GE.

Just curious, why are you using 2 125w heaters?

Decided to skip an MP10 and get a Tamron 90mm Macro SP f2.8 lens first.

Nice skip and amen to the previous post. Glad to see your tank up and running. Mine should be good to go here hopefully tomorrow or Wednesday, need to drill some holes in the stand for the return plumbing and re run the systems electrical - needs its own breaker now.

thanks /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/smile.gif Did you end up replacing any glass in yours?
I guess the point to this thread is there is no end to research. I do alot of it, and I never heard silicone can kill besides the stuff with mold and mildew inhibitors. I just took 100% silicone with a grain of salt and assumed all are the roughly the same. Oh well, the tank is doing fine, holding water, and hopefully flourishing soon.
Not sure why I love this 40 breeder more than my previous two tanks. There's just something about the footprint I guess. I miss having a little more room in the stand, but I'll get over it.
Next on the list is mag, kh and cal tests so I can start planning my route for SPS in the future. I will hopefully add some mushrooms this weekend or next and maybe something else. I need more color than green in the tank. The candy cane is green, the hammer is green with purple tips, and the zoas I have are green and a couple orange ones included in there.

The back panel where it was drilled cracked on me when I was trimming the old pvc on one of the bulk heads. AJ had a tank that needed a new side so I tore apart my orginal and replaced the side panel in his to make me one complete tank. I have extra glass if anyone needs it.

I silicone in the one panel with tank safe silicon I found at menards, so I should be good to go. I kinda cheated, well i think it is, I put my turbo box fan in front of my tank on high for a week to speed dry the silicone. I took the fan off half way through and added another layer of silicon to it and then let the fan run all weekend. I also broke all the trim for both tanks, oops, but I found a fix. Gaff tap. It is a little bit stronger than duct tape so I wrapped 10 layers of it around the top and bottom of the tank. It is a greyish black so unless you knew it was tape you'd think it is just the trim and meant to be there. Put water in it last night and all seals are looking fine. I threw my HOB Aqua clear 110 and my Mag 10 in it this morning to add water pressure to it and still haven't seen a leak on the side I repaired nor do I see any signs of the tank bowing out.

Now i just need to find my hole saws so I can drop 2 - 1.5" holes in my fish table so I can run the return plumbing from my bulk heads to my sump.

Got my friend to make me brackets to raise up the canopy. I don't like it so I might be building a tall canopy for it. Plans today are to pick up some frags in cedar falls and grab kh, calcium, and mag tests from ac&c to see where my levels are.

Here's a video sorry I took it the wrong way!

I am unable to play video, I got this message time to figure out what it means.

Firefox doesn't know how to open this address, because the protocol (rtsp) isn't associated with any program.

Don't know, you can try this. I'll probably put a new one up tomorrow after adding some SPS today.
