ive got a meanwell lpc 35 700 thatll run 3-14 leds. Id like a 12-15k look. How many and what colors should I use? Thanks

  2. If doing neutral whites (which I would recommend) you would want to do 4 NW and 9-10 RB. If you doing cool whites you could do 6 CW and 8 RB. Neutral whites are going to give you a wider spectrum of color which will be beneficial to the algae in corals. Cool whites will have less of that wide spectrum.

Thanks for the advice! But keep in mind that these are non dimmable and will be a couple inches off thebwater surface in a canopy. Is 30+w of light too much on a 5.5g?

  4. Haha yes it will be. My bad. What are you planning to keep coral wise and how deep is the tank?

Its 8.5 in deep. Mainly zoas, acans, shrooms, maybe a frogspawn.

  6. In my experience, I have had shrooms, zoas, and euphyllias thrive in both high and low light. Im not so sure about the acans though. If you want high light, you can do 7 RB and 3 NW. Lower light, I would do 5RB 2 NW. What I have read and experienced, you usually get 12K look when you have double the RB then NW when they are running at the same intensity. We have a JBJ led over our 28 and it has the 2:1 RB to NW ratio. When both on full power the tank kind of looks purple, so I dim back the white a little to make it a little more blue. So if you want more a 15k look then you probably want to add an extra RB. Thats why I recommend 5RB+2NW rather than 4 RB+2NW. Or you can add another RB for even more blue for a total of 6RB+2NW(that might be too blue though). Decision, decisions lol.
