I just watched this Vh1 documentary on Saturday Night Live and it brought back a whole lot of memories. The cast in the early 90's Adam Sandler, Will Ferrell, Chris Farley, Chris Katan, Tim Meadows, Dana Carvey, Mike Myers, David Spade, Norm MacDonald and so many more legendary comics! I'm only 26, but I associate so much with the early 90's culture, for me it was Nirvana, Spin Doctors, Blues Traveler, Gin Blossoms, Dave Mathews, Alice in Chains, Sound Garden, Green Day, Red Hot Chili Peppers, REM, Pearl Jam and the Stone Temple Piolets. Man me and my best friend would spend the weekends down town Iowa City in the ped mall when it was still full of culture, art and grunge (and businesses). We'd board down town and spend the days hanging with all the stoners, playing hacky sack, going to the arcade, or chillin at the comic shops. Stay up till 2 am drinkin chocolate milk and rockin the nintendo, then go outside in the dead of night and throw ninja stars at the tree in the front yard on a warm summer night. MAN! WhAt happened to those days?! MTV was playing music! and beavis and butthead, and we though we were so cool because we knew how to use Telnet and write Qbasic in windows DOS 3.1. The world has really changed huh? What good times!

+1 on that...except I was in college in the 90s. The 90s were good. One of my buddies went to see Pearl Jam in Omaha right before they released 10 and got a shirt signed by all band members. I used to get PC magazine when I was 10 and program in basic games and hop on to BBS systems with my 2400 baud modem. When I got my 9600 baud modem I was the king. Man now I feel old.

Dude! I feel that, I was rocking a Commodore Amiga 500 and a IBM 480 with a 5 1/4" floppy and all! I hope you guys feel proud to be a little older and have experienced the 90's being a little bit older. But I gotta say, it was a great time to be a kid. Video games at home weren't as addictive, arcades were still around, parents didn't have to worry about you hitching a bus or just skate boarding down town by yourselves. Good times.

yeah they had a good line up but IMO nothing compares to the original cast. Dan Akroyd, John Belushi, Chevy Chase, Jane Curtin, Garrett Morris, Laraine Newman, Gilda Radner, George Coe, and Michael O
. and then to have steve martin and bill murry host it frequently.

Personally, I think the 90's was a terrible decade musically. IMO, very little of that music has/will stand the test of time. Maybe it's because I'm a child of the 80's and grew up with MTV (back when the M stood for "Music") but I just don't care for any of the bands that came out of that decade with the possible exception of Alice in Chains...

What about Dream Theater? Their progenitors were Rush, Queensryche, and Journey. Then a lot of my favorite virtuosos did some of their best work in the 90's; Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, and Eric Johnson. And during the early 90's Metallica, Pantera, and Testament were all still taking no prisoners!!!! HEAVY METAL!!!!! lml

There were a few bands like that that crossed over into the early 90's, but I still consider them 80's bands...
