Acclimating from MH to LED

    I installed my Sol Blues the other day and I have the max white at 40% from noon til 6. I am going from 2 150W DE MH bulbs with 10 months use on them. I am curios on what others did to acclimate to LED's and for how long.

    I think you might want to consider starting even lower.

    I don't know much about LED's... but from what I've seen...people have fried their corals when switching to them. Your corals will be fine for a few weeks with just a little light so it would be best to start really low and slowly acclimate the corals over several weeks.

    If you were a GIRS member you could ask to use the clubs PAR meter. Each area has one and are free to use.

    40% is a pretty high starting point but it all depends on how high you have your light, the amount of surface agitation, and water clarity.
