I have the tools and have cut acrylic, but never bonded acrylic. Can't imagine it's too much different than chemically bonding pvc.

So, cut the corner away and fill in the hole with a cube, then would you leave that corner cut off? That might actually work...I hadn't thought of it that way. I might have to run that idea past James on RC and see if he has any thoughts about it. he also hates repairs though!
It's not, of you are referring to sheet bonding (making a box, etc). Very similar. But for the cube-corner, it depends on how you do the bond. You can't use a liquid thin solvent because you are bonding on 3 perpendicular planes, so you have to use 40 and actually not allow the material to be in full contact, you actually want a gap or else you will end up with a dry joint and a weak bond. But for this instance, you aren't worried out a weak bond, the cube would have no way of "popping" out of place - water pressure works with it vs against it. Anyways. Babbling. Once the cube is in place I would pour another layer of 40 around it in the 6 joints it creates with the bottom/side/end walls and that should be super solid.

    Maybe a bit larger than a 1" cube. I bet Ridout / e-Plastics carrys that too:cool:

Also, I recommend starting the cleaning process. As they said above, lay it on the face you want to clean and fill it with half an inch of vinegar/water. For faster results go 1 part muriatic acid to 10 parts water. Don't get it on your concrete, don't wear anything you like and thoroughly flush your drain pipes. An egg/sulfur smell is normal, vent properly.

Neutralize with garden lime if you plan to dump outside

I would much rather take more time and use vinegar because I will be doing all the cleaning and fixing in my garage.

I started an attempt at this a while back. No repairs but refinishing a small frag tank. I did as recommended, bought sandpaper from 1000-5000. 1000 didnt touch the surface. Went to 800. Still nothing. Long story short ended up at 220 on a DA. Pad lasts about 20 sec. Went through a hole pack of disks and only got about half of the 17x17 panel done. Spent more on sandpaper than I did on the tank. Got discouraged and not sure which direction to go now.

that doesnt sound right. I have sanded dozens without too much trouble, and never that low of grit.

Yea I dont know. I watched videos and even contacted turbo before hand. Ive detailed cars for years and know "start out light". I forget if it was 1500 or 2000 wet, but it barely touched it. You could hardly tell I did anything to it. So I went to 1000. Same result. 800, 600. Went to 400 on a palm sander. Worked on the surface but not much. 320 on a DA. Pad wouldnt last long, so I went to 220. Same issue. Id have to buy probably 100 count rolls of paper and spend literally weeks sanding this thing. I started on the bottom so if I have to I can waive the white flag, throw sand in it and live with the rest of it. Or sit the tank on a shelf and buy a new one.

Makes me wonder if it got in the sun and distorted the entire panel some how. I had one once that was haze through the whole thing

It looked clear. Have been wanting to do a nem only tank. It didnt look terrible but I didnt want to get it setup and then wish I had fixed it. Figure its small, 17x17x6, shouldnt take much.
