   Will adding sand for another system that was taken from the other system about 3 weeks ago and left in a bucket with a lid on it cause your system to spike or crash. My system has been established sense late feb. It's about 3 quarters of a 5 gallon bucket that I'm adding.

   Rinse the sand very well and then add it. If there was no heater and flow, all bacteria, etc has died
