I'm looking at getting a skimmer for a new prop system I'm going to set up. Probably looking at between 800-1000 gallons. Any recommendations?

I just ordered an SRO9000 for my setup. 1200 total gallons.

Ok I'll have to look into that. The 8-10 week lead time might be a bit of a problem for me though. Not that I need it immediately but it may take me that long to decide what to do and by that point I'll want something right away lol. Anyone have any experience with any of the larger Reef Octopus skimmers? Are any of those really big enough for that size of system. I know some say they are but I have no idea.

They have one in stock now.

I was looking at some of the smaller models, but they are usually only rated for 300 gallons of heavily stocked tanks. 600 for lightly, but who stocks light? So then you are to the point of buying 3-4 skimmers.

I struggled with the same thought process.

You can probably get by with a SRO8000, but still a few weeks on that one.

I am not too familiar with the other brands

Very good points. Definitely keeping these in mind for sure. Thanks!
