I was under the impression that AI lights were supposed to be mounted approx 12 inches off the water.  I bought my rails lights and controller from craig at AC&C.  Can't say enough, those guys rock!  However the rails only hold the lights a couple inches off the water?  Seems contradictory to what i have heard.  Thoughts please.
Also I started the intensity at 25% with a 3 hour ramp up.  Hopefully i won't burn anything

I think your intensity will be fine.
As for the rails, I think most people mount the lights to the rails, and then hang the rails from above rather than use the legs. If you're getting full light coverage how you have it, no real need to raise them up. In my case I am lighting a 5' x 3' footprint with only 3 units so I have mine up pretty high to get good light coverage.

I put them on the rails and used the yoyo suspension setup at craigs to mount them from the ceiling. I love them, you can lift em and pull em down with ease and set it how stiff you want it to go up and down. so you can push em up if you ever need them out of the way and pull em back down with a finger. Very good setup.

Is that the AI suspension system?
