    Hey guys,

I have been seeing some aiptasia start to come out in my tank. There are roughly four or five anemonees of it that I've started to notice, presumably more. Does anyone have an easy way to get rid of this that won't harm my fish/coral?

    Thanks

Aiptasia X or make a paste with pickling lime and water, inject in mouth with a syringe. Aiptasia X comes with a syringe and is very easy, but it is way more expensive than pickling lime for what seems to be almost the same thing. Get them now, when they are not bad and you can avoid being over run.

Peppermint shrimp worked for me, but once the aiptasia was gone they started munching on my acans so had to remove them.

I hit the ones I could see with Joe's Juice I think it was called. But aptasia X, or a kalk paste will do the same thing. Then I got 4 or 5 peppermints and added them to the tank. I haven't seen any aptasia since. I think the key is to get them taken care of when you first start seeing them. If you let them get to "plague" proportions you'll be in for a battle.

Some of them are about an inch long now and I have about 10-12 that I can actually see. Obviously there's a lot more. I'll try peppermint shrimp first and see how that goes.

I don't know that peppermints will go after the larger ones you already have. I would try to get the big ones, and ones you can get to easily with kalk or another liquid method, and throw peppermints in there and hope they take care of the rest.
