    75. I'm going to order a new piece of glass for the end and replace it. I have so much work into the rest of it that I can't not salvage it.

    Man, that's a downer!
I was nervous having Hung drill my 72g when it was brand new.
Seems like it's always something in my "projects"!
    You'll get it fixed!

Wow...Iowa Glass wants $80 for a piece of glass 17.5" x 20" in 3/8"...that's insanity! I didn't even pay that for the 75 gallon tank...I guess it's time to look for other suppliers or another 75 gallon tank.

I like the idea of being able to see into the sump from the sides.

AJ if its the end, just put acrylic in it!!!
Carefully remove the broken glass and silicone, then put in a peace of acrylic!!

I swear I responded with that same exact fix but apparently I never pushed Submit. I would go for that AJ plus acrylic is much easier to drill

I thought about that, but I had heard that acrylic did not bond well with silicone like glass does.  I have no practical experience, just from what I've read.  What's your experience been?
If I had confidence that it would hold, I would go the acrylic route.

Thats what I did with my 20L sump still working fine!
If you clean every thing up good and cut the acrylic to fit snug and put a nice bead of silicone on it you should be fine!

+3, not to say it DOESN'T bond, but that it doesn't bond as well.

Remember AJ, It will only be holding the water weight that is in that part of the sump, a gallon or two!!

I wonder if a light sanding in the area of the acrylic that will have to bond to the silicon would help? Might give better adhesion.
