I'm fighting hair algae and some cyano. I did several water tests and even had others test for me and water tests are almost perfect did the weekly water changes and went back to every other week. My RODI is 0 TDS there lots of water flow just don't no what the prob is. I switched from AI sol blues to the Hydras about 5 months ago not to long after is when alage started could that have caused it ?. Any help would be great Thanks

Are the hydras full spectrum? Im wondering if the reds and greens may be fueling the algae? Total guess but im not sure

It's not the lights. You have excessive phosphate available, regardless what the test kits say. Do you have a sandbed and how often do you clean it? Any other spots that you have detritus hanging out? Also, do you have a skimmer or other filtration?

I would look at the amount of food being fed vs what is being consumed. When I cut back feeding a little everything improved dramatically

Hey Josh - I have a hannah meter to test ultra low range phosphorus. I could bring it over and run a few tests for you. You could have inorganic phosphorus that is getting consumed by the algae before it is measurable with a phosphate test.

I also have a pretty reliable hannah TDS meter I can bring over. I've found it to be more accurate that the inline ones that come standard in most RO/DI setups.
