I have been running zoas lps in my system for the most part. But have been switching over to sps slowly. I have been checking my alk and cal. in the morning 4am or so, no lights on and early evening 7pm or so,lights going through there cycle heading in the moon light mode. I have been getting 9+on alk 5+ cal. in the morning. 8 alk 4cal in the evening. My question is do I run off my samples on the morning or evening test. (everything looks good but looking for the best growth)

I dont think it matters, what is important is that you check them the same time daily

Craig is right, of course :0) I'm assuming that you are checking to see about Alk and Ca consumption for eventual dosing. No need to test twice in a day, just choose the day you want to test and then test on that day and at the same time of day/evening always. I'm also assuming that you will use dosing pumps instead of manually dosing.. Figure out the rate of consumption and go from therei

your ph is what is changing the uptake throughout the day. Which is so variable that the number of people in the same room as the tank can swing your ph up or down. the main thing is stability. if you have checked both times of the day for weeks in a row and its the same than go with the higher levels. This way your dosage in the future is nice in range for the low times, and still within range during the high times.
