Yeah stop chasing the ph man. As long as the swing stays between 7.8 to 8.5 your good to go.

Are you dripping your reactor effluent in a highly oxygenated area? Like near the down tube in to sump or skimmer? This will help drive off the excess co2 thereby reducing the effects of H2CO3 aka carbonic acid to your ph.

I am far from experienced with calcium reactors but can you add another chamber to reactor to help with the co2. I could be wrong, but just throwing that out there.

Yes a second chamber will help.

So i took it offline to get the alk down... i had it dripping into my first chamber of the 4 chamber sump. The pumps are in the 4th chamber.

I can tell you aftet adding the filter that i got from the filterguys.com to the intake of my skimmer the ph did go up a bit and the skimmer started foaming better (which it foamed good before but it seemed to be thicker). I think the calcium reactor may be sold. I think ill just go back to dosing with a doser or get a kalk stirrer.

Thanks for all the help i just cant lose any of my highend zoas and lps so going back to what i know

Do you have the 1502? What media are you using? A second chamber will help raise your effluent pH, I think you can buy one, but I am cheap so I just filled up a tall glass vase and filled it with media and dumped the output of the reactor to that.

It was a little ghetto looking but it worked. At the end of the day I don't think it was even necessary.
