Yes it was very unprofessional for me to kindly explain and enforce rules. Not to mention that we are modifying the rules from how they currently read to have increased leniency. As they currently read they would require a member who's posts were more than 1/3 sales related buy a commercial membership. Again, it was a warning, of which you will be given 2 more before a ban would occur.

No, it's not. But we have graciously extended Commercial Seller benefits to all contribuing members at less than half the cost, and half the restrictions.

Oh by the way, you can forget my offer to call and discuss this matter in a civil fashion with you. After I took the time to succintly and gently explain the reason for the warning we issued and what corrective actions we requested. This, despite the fact that the rules are clearly posted! We posted reminders. You ignored it. Then you want to publicly defame me for MY actions?! My words have been nothing but polite, and I will gladly stand public trial for them.

Not cool man, no need to single out one guy here... this should have remained in private and not plastered all over the forum. GIRS is a great thing! Yes, I do not have a membership YET, but I want to be a member, I just don't have a paypal account to pay by that method! This club is one that people should want to be members of, especially if you want to improve your skills as an aquarist and bond with others with the same thing in mind. Andy, I've never met you, but I know you've given me advise and welcomed me in the past. For that, thank you! Walker1, sorry things had to go this way for you, but no need to go about this issue in this manner. There, I've said my peace! Thank you GIRS!

Um dude, look at the rules.

EVERY single one of your posts is about selling items. NOT ONCE have you offered any type of advice or any other input in the boards. EVERY single post you have posted is about selling items.

If you cant handle the rules, then you dont have to be here, period. This is a community, which means everyone contributes to the common good of the community. If you are not contributing, then you are not part of the community.

His message clearly & politely just asked you to contribute to the community as well.

Andy: I appreciate the advice that you have given all of us and opening your house up to the GIRS community to share in the love of the hobby and admire your gorgeous corals!!!

Walker1: I appreciate the service of selling that you are providing and look forward to advice from you in the future so you can stay in compliance with the rules of this public forum!

There were multiple complaints about you. I was one of them. As everyone is telling you its in the rules. And you have abused it.

I have dealt with walker and have always liked him and personally never had any bad moments with him.

I know the club has always tried to stay away from reef central practices. Thinking about this I think instilling have to be registered member for a period of time and have so many post first will help to eliminate an issue like this and automatically cause someone to start participating in club topics and even meetings. Sounds like that is how this topic even got started.

I hope you guys can work this out professionally and reconcile. I have met Walker1 and although I do not keep tabs on his posts, I can vouch he has a 90 gallon tank with no frag tanks and I would not consider him a commercial seller. He has also given good verbal advice when I met him in person.

As a member, I think the buy/sell forums are a service for members regardless of whether the seller is also a member. That being said, (walker1) I hope you are willing to follow the rules and compromise.

Ive got a question to ask...Im thinking about getting out of this hobby and trying something else with less time restrictions and hassles...am I able to sell off all my corals and equipment without being a dealer since im still a member for now?

    Of course

The issue is having 100% of post made be about selling something. If people are posting in other threads as well, there will never be an issue.

The actual rule states that no more then 15% of your total posts can be about you selling something. As long as anyone is somewhat close to this, there wont be an issue.
