I've had a beautiful green BTA and maroon clown for about 2.5 years now, peacefully living in coexistence in my tank. The BTA has been happy at his perch the entire time - it has never moved.

A few days ago it has seemingly gone missing. I cannot locate it anywhere, and this is troubling.

My water parameters are stable. Lighting has not changed. There have been no changes to trigger this move that I am able to pinpoint. All other corals appear to be happy.

I'm concerned that the anemone has crawled off somewhere to die.

In the meantime, the maroon clown has taken to attempted hosting with my Duncan coral, which has not been very receptive to it's new friend.

Any suggestions on a course of action would be appreciated. I'm considering the possibility that I'll have to find a new home for the clown if she keeps this behavior up and the anemone doesn't appear soon.

My rbta did that and as near as I could tell it was because the clowns were pissing it off. These were clarkii which have a rep for being rough on anemones. It did not recover, but hopefully yours will be okay.
