How often do you feed yours? I get so many conflicting reports, all over the map. Just curious, mine are doing very well with not very often feeding.

Nems are like coral. They harness energy both from eating and photo synthesis.

It is good to feed them if you want. They probably get some food when you feed your other inhabitants. I feed mine quite a bit with small frozen foods (thawed in saltwater).

They're sort of like a snake......if you feed them a lot, they will grow a lot and get bigger. If you don't feed them as much, they may stay the same size for longer and not grow as quickly or not split (if they're the type that like to split). I feed mine 1x week now. Used to feed it more, but found it did just fine with 1x a week. I have a long tentacled green anemone, btw.

I feed my carpet a silverside twice a week and my RBTA and GBTA once. I also have been feeding them caned oysters every once and a while and they seem to realy like them.

I have a green long tentacle and a green bubble tip that split into two and I feed them on a sporadic basis and they are doing fine. As long as you have enough light for them to use photosynthesis as their primary means of energy it's really up to you how often you feed them. I feed them daily though when I first brought em home until they got established and comfortable in the tank. I noticed a lot more color and flourescence when I was feeding them frequently. But the more you feed em the bigger they get which is something you want to take into consideration given the size of your tank. My buddy has a carpet and bubble tip in his 100gal that he feed quit frequently and also kept under 6700K bulbs and now between the two of them they take up the majority of the swimming space in his tank.

Can you overfeed your anemone? I have a RBTA and a sun coral so I feed my sun coral at least every other day with Rod's Original. Usually, I feed my RBTA when I feed my sun coral and he seems to like it now. Should I be feeding less?

Depends, how big do you want it to get?

Sweet. Thats good that he'll reject food if he doesn't want it. I made enough room for him in the tank for a 10-12" spread. I'm hoping he'll get comfortable and split also /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default//emoticons/smile.gif
