Has anyone used straight Lugons to swab an anemone.

Anyone know the effects of anemone in a diluted iodine bath?

I don't swab them, I always just dip/soak for 3-5 mins. I believe the mixture is 5ml to 1 Gallon if I remember. I have this written down at home and can confirm when I get off work tonight.

I did a 10 drops per liter and it looked dense.

It didn't kill him instantly so that's a good sign. He did slime up some gunk which didn't happen when I used coralRx so I can tell it was a little bit on the potent side.

I was considering a straight Lugols swab which consists of 7% iodine.

I figured I'd do a few routine milder baths a few times to if there's any improvement but if I notice any sort of fast decline from this point I may resort to "amputation" followed by a heavy Lugols swab.

I was just wortied about iodine in general when referring to anemones because from a lot of information on the net most people don't dip anemones.

IMO they would almost qualify for needing it the most.

I couldn't wait in regards to iodine hurting the Nem. I had to do something so I just crossed my fingers and went with it. It seemed to help more as well as hurt more. Wish me luck!

Im not sure maybe someone can comment on if the bayer dip will be fine for a nem or not. I know it wont kill apitasia so anemones may be fine with it.

Why do you need to dip an anemone?

Peace of mind I guess would keep me doing it consiststly I guess.

Probably just like anything else, Bacteria infections, parasites.

Me personally for disinfecting post surgery.

Ive read lots of horror stories as well of people putting them in their display and their current anemones catch something from the new one.
    No reason not too.

I've never heard of anyone dipping an anemone before but that makes sense
