Getting the groundwork for a new anemone tank. I've been able to talk to a few members but does anyone have any tips or tricks for what you've done to make your anemone's happy?

    Where'd you get yours?

How often do you feed it and what?

What powerhead/wavemaker do you use and close is the nem to it?

    What lighting are you running?

    Anything else you find useful!

    Thanks!

Well I got mine from Joe at coral haven it is a rainbow rose bubble tip , I feed it with the Girs DIY food about 2-3 times a week I use a maxi-jet 600 and a hydor rotating head on it and it is doing great . I have it under Cree LEDs . Also have a Gbta in another tank that has moved all the way to the top of the tank and it is under a PC / MH fixture and it has placed itself directly under the MH about 6 in under the surface of the water . Same thing on feeds and power head I have found that the less offten I feed them the more they open up and elongate and the more offten i feed them the more compact and tight they stay . Good luck and the only caution I can think to give is know that they do move around and will sting and kill almost any coral they get near .

I had a long-tentacled anemone for about 8 years. It was happiest if I fed it krill or shrimp once a week, and it hardly ever moved on me. That particular species like sand to bury their foot in if they can get it, but once I went BB it made do in a rock. I had it under MHs and it stayed at the bottom of the tank. It was also a monster. Literally, it killed anything that touched it, and more than once made very expensive snacks of some prized livestock.

Once it got to be the size of a dinner plate, I decided I'd rather have that room for more coral and I took it and traded it in.
