Supposedly my motor board went. I bought it used and have had it roughly 2 years. $150 to repair.

@xroads@xroads, hate to keep referencing you but maybe that comes from you being a guru! Have read enough threads where you have helped GIRS members out with Apex issues at all times of the day or night. Thoughts on this conversation?

I am not a huge expert, but I have learned something recently.

During any type of update, you have to ensure your internet connection is strong and uninterrupted.

If it looses connection, or drops signal for even a few seconds it is enough to fry the board. This goes for any type of board, not just apex. Computers, TV's, etc.

This is more and more common these days since companies use single point solutions to house code for the hardware. There has been a few motherboard manufacturers that have added secondary backup bios chips on-board to recover from bad updates. I would guess Neptune pushed a bad update and the 150$ was at-cost for the hardware and shipping. I see this stuff all the time in the IT world.. :)

Good to hear it's working though, always sucks whenever hardware has issues, especially in this hobby.
