Looking to see how much interest there is in colt coral frags - they can be fairly large if you want. I bought the mother colony from Adam's a bit over a year ago and it has gotten quite large since then. Unfortunately I can't find a picture of it older than about 9 months ago to show how much it has grown (it was probably about 5" x 5" in October of 2009) and is now about 19" x 19".
Here's a picture from about 9 months ago in February:

I'm looking at cutting a significant portion of it out of my display tank.  If anyone has interest in some frags, please let me know so I can figure out what to cut this weekend!
I'm not looking for a whole lot for a frag (especially if you're willing to attach it yourself) - something like $5 or some kind of a trade would suffice.  Although I'd prefer a bit more if I have to sew them down to a rock and let them attach for a week or two - my frag tank is only 14g and somewhat full already.
I have read that this is a relatively difficult coral to attach since it is quite slimey when bothered, however, I've had a 100% success rate so far with attaching these guys using the fishing line method.  Just run the line through the coral with a fine sewing needle once on a small frag (twice or three times on a larger frag) and tie it down to a small piece of rock.  After about a week or two it should be securely attached and you can cut the line and remove it.

I've had good luck attaching with plastic toothpicks and rubber bands. I do that one way and the other....hmm..not sure how to explain. I guess like an X and rubberband each side and it holds the colt close to the rock fairly securely. Got the plastic pics at a hobby store. Not sure how wooden ones would work.

Yep, I know exactly what you're talking about.  I happened to try the fishing line method first and it has always worked so I've never deviated from it.  The only time I've ever tried the plastic cocktail toothpick method was on a devil's hand which was probably too small and it ended up tearing through the base of the frag.  But I have plenty of them if anyone wants to try it with the plastic toothpicks.

Okay, I have quite a bit of colt ready to go this weekend.

    I have the following available:

1 small piece attached (around 1-2 inches)
2 small/medium size pieces attached (around 4-5 inches)
1 medium/large attached (6-7 inches when open - currently not able to open fully in short frag tank)
1 medium/large that has been tied for about a week and should be close to attached (probably 6-7 inches as well)
1 XL (the mother colony) attached to small piece of rock (over a foot tall).

I'd be happy to let them go for a reasonable offer. I am located in downtown Des Moines and would love to get them off my hands this weekend if possible.

    Thanks!

    Eric
