    AKA Pipe organs

Just wondering if anyone in the area keeps them. One of my favorite corals all around.

Only member of its Genus, and a soft coral that lays down an exoskeleton of calcium, pretty neat stuff! If you haven't had the chance to pick one up I will be fragging one out tomorrow into some very small pieces. Going to try a different method based on morphology of the species.. May have many many frags from this one. Going to be pretty neat.

If you do keep them have you taken some time to take a look at the structure and manner in which they grow. The super structure layers itself upon the previous sub structure and as the sub structure begins to grow upward layers down a flat base of calcium as it begins to grow up. Its really neat to see the skeletal structure. Overall between the blue and the green color morphs and the red skeletal base this is a really cool coral!

We had them a few years ago in our old tank. They are a cool coral but were a very slow grower for us. If you were closer I'd be interested in a frag.
