Nice pictures @Kevin Servais@Kevin Servais . I'm glad to see that the hawkins enchinata is doing well for you. I had a tank problem a year ago, and lost most of my colony of it. I had a small frag left, but it also bit the dust recently. Maybe I'll have to get a frag of it back from you!!!! What's the coral in the picture immediately before the hawkins?

  6. thanks @beckerj3@beckerj3 ! I just cut off a piece of the Hawkins a couple minutes ago for you. I’ll let you know once it’s healed up a little bit

the coral above, is the Acro from the 2019 grow out contest. First sps ever added to the tank and thankfully it’s been able to keep up with me so far.

I think you are one of the few people where the 2019 grow out coral looks like the original picture!!!! My has grown well, but it is pink! Thanks in advance for the hawkins. Do you have sunset milli? I could trade a frag of it to you.

  8. Thanks! And no problem on the Hawkins, I actually do have a sunset

Hey you guys. All great pictures. I'd really appreciate if you would update your post with the name of the corals - so I can plan what to get for my last few open spots in the tank!!!! :):)

Sony A7RII with the Sony 90MM f/2.8 Macro and the Avast Porthole. I usually shoot in RAW 1/125, f/5.6 for better depth of field, ISO whatever I need but around 500-800 for my tank. White balance is maxed at 9900k and shift the tint into green/amber range (almost orange tint). Most of the photos I post online are transferred to my phone and edited (the camera does the RAW to JPEG conversion). Sometimes I need to warm up the white balance a tad and add a bit of magenta tint. After all that I correct the purples by shifting them towards blue in the channel mixer. Stylized for my taste with some contrast, vibrancy, texture and clarity.

Workflow is similar if I transfer them to the computer and edit there. RAW files take a bit more work to look right but allows better shadow/highlight retention and color rendering is improved IMO. If I was ever going to print the photos I'd use my desktop but mostly use my phone since posting online or saving for my reference.

I'm thinking of getting macro tubes for my 55mm lens to get wider shots using the porthole. The 90mm can't get the larger corals without cropping now. Top down photos with a porthole are a game changer. Nothing makes a coral look better.

  17. Similar to Alex, a Sony A7iii w/90mm Macro.

I shoot all RAW and use manual settings. And then edit the photos in LightRoom - I usually will just transfer to my computer and then edit them on my phone (Lightroom CC puts all items on the cloud). Sometimes I’ll throw a diopter in front of the lens to get additional magnification.

Couldn't figure out how to edit. Looking at this I think half my corals are from Xiaoxi and you.

Maleficent - Such a pretty red and still healing.

Oregon Tort - Not your lineage... I know you were looking.

    Xiaoxiy's "Fake Pearlberry"

    Xiaoxiy's Pink Cadillac

    Xiaoxiy's pink milli?

    WD

    OP

    Yellow Tip

    Xiaoxiy's another pink milli

Grew from a small frag of a wild that Bret Hartman got. It's a tabling acro.

    Side of tank.

A milli I got from Tim. Think it was from a wild he had.

    Gobstopper

    Spongodes

Left some pink wild milli from Tim. Right got this from Chad Vietz but no clue what it is.
