Yes Sir!!! I love to fish for anything.....catching is another story hahaha (like to but doesnt happen much). Hopefully this year there wont be a drought or flood, usually theres one or the other that likes to mess up summertime water fun around here.

Anybody have recomendations around IA for good fishing and or boating other than the wloo/cr/ic areas?

Rathbun Lake near Centerville was always one of my favorite fishing spots.

I like fishing the bottom of the coralville resevore. Catch almost anything there. Almost time to go get some stripper. Then if you get in a boat there are several nice holes on the cedar in cedar rapids. Dont have much luck shore fishing in town as the areas are normally fished out.

I heard the walleye are hitting hard below Coralville. I go at least once a year to northern Minnesota or Canada. This year it will be Lake Mille Lacs. Lake Red Rock below the dam can be good at times. I used to catch them in the Iowa when I was a kid.

I caught quite a few in the Iowa below the South Amana dam a few years back. I like fishing for anything that bites!

Lake Iowa is my latest favorite place.

  10. We went to Lake Mille Lacs last summer as part of my brothers bachelor party, we were hitting the walleyes left and right up there. Awesome place to fish!

They always are this time of year. The river is a ghost land during the summer though, there's nothing but carp in there during the summer I swear.

It's stocked regularly with bluegill, crappie, largemouth, and channel cats. There are some nice fish pulled out of there every year, and at around 100 acres of lake, there's plenty of room. Very rarely is it crowded.

    Beautiful park too.

I haven't fished in years, but I definitely enjoy it. Maybe this spring I'll have some time to get on a lake.
