My clownfish spawned for the first time last night. I got them as babies and had them a couple years. It was really cool seeing all the eggs this morning, and my kids were beyond excited. I'd like to set up a fry tank but I've read I need to feed Rotifers for the first week or so. If I have to order them and grow myself, I won't be able to save this batch. I thought I'd check and see if anyone here grows them first. Thanks!

Having been in your shoes, if you decide to raise rotifers, I highly recommend Reed's Mariculture concentrated phytoplankton. I highly recommend Reed's Mariculture concentrated phytoplankton. I started out growing my own phyto, but Craig/xroads pointed me towards the concentrate. Soooo much easier. They also sell rotifers.

I dont keep rotifers anymore. I will be using copepods in my future breeding.

I can get them and the past from Reed if you decide you want to go that way. But would be the end of next week.

You can try to raise them on baby brine shrimp (artemia). It is harder but doable.

Thanks everyone! I'll probably PM some of you shortly. I picked up a baby brine shrimp hatchery kit, but from what I read, that was going to be their second food after 5-6 days of Rotifers. I'm hoping this will be a fun thing for the kids and I to do, so if we even get a few to survive, I'm sure they would be ecstatic. I would love to get this setup properly though and see what we can do.

i'm sure you'll have plenty of opportunities now that they are spawning.
