You have it right. The water comes down the outside of the canister, outside the sleeve, then gets forced up through the media. So there is no way for the trapped air to escape. The way to make it look all pretty and make you feel at ease is to turn the water flow on, then turn the entire canister upside down and let the outside air pocket fill up, then when the water gets to the top, invert it and let it push the air in the DI resin sleeve up and out.

I live on the South side but our waters should all be the same in DSM proper. Same source of water.

I get 0 on the way out for TDI.

Has anyone came over to your house yet just to look at your system and trouble shoot?

Last heads up on this topic... Finally figured out what the issue was.... And it just happens to be my luck that I happened to get 2 bad membranes in a row. So now I'm on my 3rd membrane and my Tds is right on at .002

Why do you have 9 stages? Don't fall into the trap of thinking more stage=better filtration.

Why do you have THREE carbon prefilters? You lose water pressure with each. Do you have chloramines?

Your 150 gpd membrane is spec'ed at 65 psi - what it your pressure at the membrane?

Rejection (how well the water is purified by the membrane) is reduced with low pressure at the membrane.

A properly packed resin cartridge won't channel. In all practicality, it's not possible to pack it too tightly.

If you want to get the trapped air out of the DI housings, with the system running loosen the housing about 1/4 turn - just enough to break the seal at the oring. Have a towel handy as it will spit a little water. You'll immediately see the water level start to rise in the housing. Tighten the housing just before the water reaches the oring. The trapped air doesn't really cause any problems, except especially if you have multiple DI carts it will affect the operation of an ASOV if you hve one.
