    Hi,

Thought I would let everyone know that didn't know that the new update from Neptune system was added to Playstore today. The update adds a Widget if you want one as I did.

    Later,

    Kp

    In your app setup

You have to get on your router and enter your Apex Ip in the port forwarding spot with port its to use to forward it to. Then setup app like this.

Host is your local IP of your Apex and in your WAN Host spot find your computer IP by clicking on this link >http://whatismyipaddress.com/< Port= Is what ever port you are using. I am using 80

Now I know my router IP don't change yours might. You may have to ask your ISP if it does. I am on Southslope. Also some ISP block some common ports like 80 and 88. So check on that too. This is why some people have to go with host sites to get theirs working.

Let me know if this works for you.

Kyle one thing to remember is that most routers will still prevent the incoming request to get past the firewall like mine did.

Dead fish the other thing you might have to do is put your apex ip address on the other side of your router firewall and make it visible to the internet. You would go into the router settings and in there go to DMZ and put the ip address on the other side of the firewall. That was the only way i was able to get mine to work outside my house wifi.

Just something else to consider if all else fails .

Anybody out there ever configure an Apex to work with an Apple Airport Extreme? Seems like the UI is a lot different than other routers.

From what little I know of DMZ and Port forwarding I disagree. You are doing the same thing with both DMZ and port forwarding. If you use DMZ you are opening up all ports in front of your Router firewall and relying on your computers firewall and so on. With port forwarding you are allowing a specific port to open for a specific task you want. Port forwarding is like having one pin hole in your tire where is the DMZ is like having 64,000 pin holes. Both are opening up problems, but the one would bring problems faster.

Are you using PC or Apple Erik? I forgot, but this might be the difference here I am not sure. Make sure your computer firewall was not blocking the port automatically for some reason maybe Erik. Also some ISP block common ports too.

Here is a little snippet from what I have read!

DMZ is more dangerous since you're opening ALL ports, and relying 100% on the software the machine the ports are forwarded to. Any services or vulnerabilities that exist on that machine are fully exposed to the internet unless that machine is running a software firewall.

With individual port forwarding, you're only opening what you need, usually for the purpose of hosting a service (ie: FTP server, game server). With individual port forwards, it is only a security risk if the services running on those ports have vulnerabilities.

There is a setting in the netgear routers that allows you to put one ip address outside the firewall of the router. You still need the port in the up address . It's simple and your computer and other ports are still behind the firewall. Also when connecting the first time you will still be prompted for the username and password .
